Call Legislators
Calling legislators is another effective way to get your voice heard. When legislators get several phone calls from constituents on issues or legislation, they begin to pay more attention. Also, the more phone calls a legislator receives...
When calling your legislator, be sure to include the following information:
- Who you are. Make sure to identify yourself as a constituent.
- The issue and your position on it. Tell them also how the legislation will help/hurt you personally. Be as clear and concise as possible.
- How to contact you. Remember to leave your address and telephone number and request a response in writing from the legislator as to their position and why they have come to that position.
During the 2009-2010 Legislative Session, WCCC supporters placed nearly 750 phone calls to legislative offices.
You can find out who your legislators are and what their phone numbers are by going to the Wisconsin State Legislature website.
