2007 - 2008 Legislation

Assembly Bill 11 (Support) Disclosure of social security numbers by persons who purchase goods from sellers of goods at retail and providing a penalty.
Assembly Bill 102 (Support) Prohibiting use of social security numbers on state civil service examinations, prohibiting requests by merchants for customers' social security numbers, posting certain personal information in government records on the Internet, prohibiting access to certain public records and employer records containing the social security numbers of individuals, prohibiting a register of deeds from recording certain instruments that contain more than a partial social security number, prohibiting the number of credit inquiries as a factor in credit reports, granting rule-making authority, and providing penalties.
Assembly Bill 316 (Support) Prohibiting insurers, risk-sharing plans, and certain self-insured plans from using social security numbers as personal identifiers.
Assembly Bill 475 (Support) The issuance of motor vehicle operator's licenses and identification cards by the Department of Transportation.
Assembly Bill 488 (Support) The sale of consumer goods containing radio frequency identification tags.
Assembly Bill 496 (Support) Limiting the searchability of a governmental Internet listing of property taxes assessed.
Assembly Bill 502 (Support) Furnishing or using certain consumer loan information to make solicitations and providing a penalty.

Assembly Bill 771 (Support) Use of a social security number as personal identifier in the administration of a state or local governmental program.
Senate Bill 99 (Support) Prohibitions against certain telephone and facsimile solicitations, authorizing a private cause of action, and providing a penalty.
Senate Bill 191 (Support) Disclosure of terms and conditions applicable to the use of gift certificates, gift cards, and other gift obligations and providing penalties.
Senate Bill 275 (Support) Furnishing or using certain consumer loan information to make solicitations and providing a penalty.
Senate Bill 439 (Support) Prohibiting the retention of certain information obtained in transactions using account access devices.
Senate Bill 552 (Support) Use of a social security number as personal identifier in the administration of a state or local governmental program.
